Metalmatrix celebrates 25 years with the inauguration of Distribution Center
Created on September 2, 1999 by Cristiano Grillo in his grandmother's house, Metalmatrix, from Caxias do Sul, celebrates its 25th anniversary, consolidated as a reference in cable tie manufacturing throughout Brazil and in several countries around the world. With net revenue estimated at R$60 million in 2024, which corresponds to growth between 10% and 15% compared to 2023, the company reaches its solid anniversary and investing R$10 million in a Distribution Center (DC) in Santa Catarina.
Alongside his partner, José Ângelo Bertuol, Grillo started Metalmatrix out of a desire to undertake. He received support from his father, Sérgio Grillo, and started outsourcing dies to rubber companies, including Autotravi, his father's company. “I have always been by my Father's side, absorbing his DNA for business, I started working early, always spending my time on school holidays with him.” I grew up, started the Administration course and never stopped studying, there were more than 5 specializations, along with my career at Macrosul, where I stayed there until I became the CEO. It was then that I decided to undertake and have my own business”, he says. After four years of working at Metalmatrix with stamping and washers, he understood that he needed to change and invested in the manufacture of cable ties. “I left my grandmother's house for a 1,500 square meter plant and then we came here, where we have a total space of 11 thousand square meters, with 2.6 thousand square meters of built area occupied by Metalmatrix”, he reports.
From the Caxias do Sul factory, more than 5 million units of cable ties leave each month, many for vehicles that circulate throughout Brazil and the world, and the need for a larger place for stock became increasingly visible as the company grew. According to the CEO, in the last six years, the company has practically tripled in size. “We chose Navepark, a logistics complex in Navegantes, Santa Catarina, due to its strategic location. I am 8 km from an airport and 10 km from a port. In total, I have five ports at my disposal. And the CD is 600 km from São Paulo and 500 km from Rio Grande do Sul, Metalmatrix’s two biggest markets”, he explains. The CD went into operation in August and is one of the milestones of the anniversary.
360 security, cutting-edge technology, strategic partners, business vision and qualified and happy people have brought Metalmatrix to its 25th anniversary. And it is this same equation that makes Grillo believe that, yes, in 2030, the area dedicated to expanding the Distribution Center that was acquired at Navepark will be occupied, and the target of R$100 million will be reached.
